It is located on Town property and will remain the Towns tree, as they declined an offer from a builder to purchase the land, even with a guarantee of protection for the tree. Title: Oakville fears Gypsy Moth InfestationThe Town of Oakville has been fighting endlessly against the Emerald Ash Borer in an effort to save the Ash trees in Oakville. Now they have another issue to attend to. It is suspected we could now be facing a problem with the Gypsy Moth which most commonly attacks the leaves of Oak trees. The Town has begun injecting Oak trees with the same product used to fight off the Emerald Ash borer. Title: Did you know?The oldest Maple tree in Canada is just around the corner from us, the Comfort Maple, located in North Pelham in the Niagara region. The tree is thought to be at least 500 years old. It stands about 100 feet tall, and has a circumference of 20 feet. Wow, that would be neat to see!! |
