Title: Tree Safety

By: A. Pasma, 2016-06-08 07:45:22

I just read an article about a tree falling onto a home on Monday. Luckily no one was injured. I want to take a moment to point out that a tree can be healthy, and still be unsafe. Things to look for as far as safety concerns: large or small holes in the trunk, included bark or ant presence. These can all be signs that the tree is not structurally safe, regardless of the fact that canopy is full and beautiful. If you are unsure about the safety of your trees, it is best to have a professional come out and take a look. There are options outside of removal, including bracing and cabling. Title: EAB at its peak in Oakville

By: A. Pasma, 2016-06-08 07:38:22

It seems that the Emerald Ash Borer has reached its peak in Oakville. Hopefully this means the bug will begin to die off in the next couple of years. The town is bust treating the municipal trees this week, so if you see a tree with a green ribbon, it has recently been treated. This is up to the fourth treatment for some of the trees. TreeAzin is effective for two years before a tree needs to be treated again. Let's hope that we are nearing the end of the Emerald Ash Borer.

Title: Oakville's fight against EAB internationally recognized

By: A. Pasma, 2015-07-03 13:16:02

The Town of Oakville has been internationally recognized for its fight against the Emerald Ash Borer. With one of the most aggressive EAB management programs in the country, Oakville provided a guided tour of how to combat the Emerald Ash Borer through some of its own forests. See the article below for more information http://www.insidehalton.com/news-story/5703459-oakville-shows-off-emerald-ash-borer-program/

Title: Oakville Ash trees

By: A. Pasma, 2015-06-16 08:04:25

The Town of Oakville will be removing thousands of Ash trees within the woodlands, over the next year, as part of a massive re-forestation project. As most of you know, the Emerald Ash Borer is a deadly insect that attacks Ash trees. The trees die from the top down, and once infected, it happens quite quickly. Apart from a preventative measure of having your trees injected with TreeAzin, there is not much that can be done. If you notice your tree looks like it is dying, with little foliage at the top, and/or growing shoots out at the base, call today for a free quote to have the tree removed. Unfortunately, the more dead the tree is the more dangerous it is to remove, and thus the more costly. Check out the article below for more information on the Town's plans. http://www.insidehalton.com/news-story/5678088-oakville-to-cut-down-thousands-of-insect-ravaged-ash-trees/

Title: No Mulch Available Until June 1st

By: A. Pasma, 2015-04-29 11:28:39

Hi Everyone, Our free mulch program has been quite popular this year. Unfortunately, as we have increased the size of one our trucks to be able to hold up to 60 yards of Mulch, we haven't been able to drop off to as many people as we would like. That being said, we have currently put a hold on taking any new recipients until June 1st, in an effort to get mulch to the existing recipients. Thank you for understanding.
