At this point most people are familiar with the Emerald Ash Borer and the problem it is causing to our local Trees. I found an interesting article on the oakville Beaver this past weekend. It looks like OAkville is reaching out to the Federal Government for assistance in the cost to fight the EAB. Title: Attention Citizens of Mississauga - New Tree By'law Pending

Citizens of Mississauga should be aware there is a new by-law pending with regard to private trees. In an effort to maintain the City's canopy, the City of Mississauga is considering adding more permit fees, and putting a more strict limit on the number of trees a resident is permitted to remove annually. They are also making changes to what is expected in replacement of trees removed on your property. There will be meetings taking place over the next couple of weeks where residents can attend to obtain more information, and protest the changes if so desired.
