Subject: Large Tooth Aspen

Common Name: Large Toothed Aspen, Large Toothed Poplar, Big Toothed Aspen

Latin Name: Populus grandidentata

Family: Salicaceae

Size: Up to 80 ft tall normally around 60 ft

Shape: Tall, Upright rounded at top with most branches starting at half way sparcely, to dense at top of canopy

Trunk: Very long and tall. The bark has long light grey ridges running verticle.

Wood: The wood isn't very good firewood.

Branches:The branches grow almost horizontal sparsely at thehalf way point to extremely dense at canopy top. The branches are very brittle and die very often.

Description: This tree is very messy when its catkins spread their fluff. It almost looks like it snowed with their mess. These trees grow very quick, and have a very short life. This isn't a good tree to invest a lot of money into.
