Common Name: Pin Oak, Swamp Oak, Water Oak
Latin Name: Quercus pallustris
Family: Fagaceae
Size: Up to 80 ft, normally around 60 ft.
Shape: Tall, tight branching slightl rounded cone shaped canopy.
Trunk: Tall and straight. Wood brownish grey up t0 3 ft wide.
Wood: The wood is dense, heavy and great for firewood.
Branches: The braches are ascending at the top of the canopy. The branches grow towards the ground up to half of the tree. This tree can grow until the leaves touch the ground in an open area without pruning.
